Adjunct Logistics Instructor

Description:

Responsible for teaching courses in the Logistics Specialist program. Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans and develops program and syllabi, goals and objectives. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts. Stays abreast of industry trends and related local needs.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a closely related field. A minimum of two years work experience in Logistics or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Logistics or a closely related field or a Master’s degree with a concentration (18 graduate semester hours) in Logistics or a related field. Teaching experience.

Adjunct Esthetician Instructor

Description:

Responsible for teaching courses in the Cosmetic Esthetician program. Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans and develops program and syllabi, goals and objectives. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Required Qualifications:

Esthetician and/or Cosmetologist license and at least 2 years experience. Knowledge of State Board requirements on practical application and written testing required. If applicant does not currently hold the Instructor's License, must be willing to work the required 1500 hours in order to complete the Instructors Exam for Instructor License. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current Instructor's license.

Adjunct Patient Care Assisting Instructor (Claxton High School & Screven County High School)

Description:

Instructor will provide classroom instruction for a class at Claxton High School and Screven County High School. Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction and delivers instruction to high school students in the Patient Care Assisting program. Develops program and syllabi, goals and objectives. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals, objectives, and state certifications. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Candidate must have or be willing to attend Train-the Trainer meeting.

Required Qualifications:

Candidate must have a minimum of a current Georgia Practical Nursing license or a Georgia Registered Nurse license. Candidate must have one year nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Work experience in a teaching/learning environment is preferred. Long-term care experience preferred.

Adjunct Faculty Positions

Ogeechee Technical College is continuously seeking qualified candidates for adjunct faculty teaching positions. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions appointed on a quarterly basis. The positions listed below are for positions which we do not currently have an opening for but wish to maintain an applicant pool. Application packets are maintained for one year. Should a position in any of these areas become available, application packets on file will be reviewed and applicants meeting the qualifications will be considered for the position.

Qualifications for teaching include an educational background specific to the courses/programs being considered. Formal teaching certification is not required. Teaching positions in some Associate Degree programs require a Master's Degree in the field or a Master's Degree with at least 18 semester hours in the subject to be taught from a regionally accredited college or university. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience.

Applicants for positions other than Associate Degree programs must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the teaching discipline or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree.

All positions require a pre-employment criminal background investigation and employer/professional reference checks. Some positions may also require a motor vehicle record (MVR) search.

Chemistry

Master’s degree in Chemistry or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry from a regionally accredited institution

Economics

A Master's degree in Economics or a Master’s degree with a concentration (18 semester hours) in Economics from a regionally accredited institution.

English

A Master's degree in English or a Master’s degree with a concentration (18 semester hours) in English from a regionally accredited institution.

Humanities

Master’s degree in English, Literature, Humanities, Theatre, Music, Art, Film, or closely related field.

Introduction to Microcomputers

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or closely related field or a Master’s degree with a concentration (18 semester hours) in CS, CIS, IT, or a related field.  Certifications in any of the following: A+, Net+, CCNA, MCP, MCSA, MCSE or MCT would be preferred.

Learning support - English

A bachelor's degree in English is required. A Master's degree in English or a Master's degree with 18 hours graduate semester hours in English from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.

Learning support – Math

A bachelor's degree in mathematics is required. A Master's degree in mathematics or a Master's degree with 18 hours graduate semester hours in mathematics from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.

Learning support – Reading

A bachelor's degree in English/reading is required. A Master's degree in English/reading or a Master's degree with 18 hours graduate semester hours in English/reading from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.

Math

A Master’s degree in Mathematics or a Master’s degree with a concentration (18 semester hours) in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution.

Music

Master of Music degree, a Master of Arts degree in Music, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Music from a regionally accredited institution.

Psychology

Master’s degree in Psychology or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology from a regionally accredited institution.

Sociology

Master’s degree in Sociology or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Sociology from a regionally accredited institution.

Anatomy

Candidates must possess an appropriate health sciences baccalaureate degree, Registered Nurse (RN) license, or biology degree. Must have RN or Biology degree to teach Anatomy and Physiology course.

Health Science Core

Candidates must possess an appropriate health sciences baccalaureate degree, Registered Nurse (RN) license, or biology degree. Must have a minimum of a Practical Nursing (PN) license to teach the Introduction to Health Care course.
