Ogeechee Tech and Averitt Center Cooperate to Promote the Arts
and Cultural Events

In an effort to provide more cultural opportunities to the employees and students of Ogeechee Technical College, a cooperative agreement has been established between the Averitt Center for the Arts and Ogeechee Tech.  The Averitt Center is providing a special discount to Ogeechee Tech students, faculty, and staff to encourage utilization of programming presented at the Averitt Center.  “It is our hope that this affiliation with the Averitt Center will encourage our employees and students to gain a greater appreciation for the arts.  There is such a wide array of program options offered through the Averitt Center and we know that many of the employees and students here at Ogeechee Tech will want to take advantage of this special incentive provided by the Averitt Center,” commented Dr. Dawn Cartee, President of Ogeechee Tech.

Averitt Center for the Arts

“This is a fantastic arrangement that we hope will benefit Ogeechee Tech and the Averitt Center.  The Averitt Center is the center of arts and culture for our community, and we want to expand upon that by being the center of arts and culture for Ogeechee Tech,” stated Tim Chapman, Executive Director of the Averitt Center.  Ogeechee Tech is participating by sponsoring the upcoming presentation of “One Nation, Under Blog” which is being brought to the Averitt Center by The Second City Touring Company.  Second City produced many of the stars of Saturday Night Live, and the show promises to be a hit with the local audience.  Although tickets are $27 for the public, Ogeechee Tech students and employees can purchase tickets to the show for only $15.
