Ogeechee Tech Students Perform
Well on Practical Exam

Eight recent graduates of Ogeechee Technical College’s Emergency Medical Technician program participated in the National Registry examination for EMTs on Saturday, October 13th.  The OTC graduates were part of a group of 38 from as far away as Alabama who completed testing in four practical stations, including trauma patient assessment, IV therapy, airway intubation, and shock management of a bleeding patient.  The testing, which took place at Rescue Training in Savannah, included several Federal Bureau of Investigation agents who had also recently completed training.

The Ogeechee Tech students who completed the testing had a hundred percent (100%) pass rate on all the testing stations.  “We are very proud of these students and the proficiency they have demonstrated in a variety of skill areas,” stated Dr. Jessie Strickland, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Ogeechee Tech.  “All of our medical programs are important, but none is more vital to our service area than teaching Emergency Medical Technician students how to provide competent pre-hospital care to the sick and injured,” Dr. Strickland concluded.

This particular group of EMT students was trained in Screven County.  To learn more about Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, or any other medical program offered at Ogeechee Tech, visit www.ogeecheetech.edu.
