Ogeechee Technical College recently hosted a Christmas party for foster children and their foster parents in Evans County at the College’s Evans Center.  The children had an opportunity to visit with Santa and posed for a picture with the jolly old elf.  A copy of the photograph commemorating the visit was given to each child.  Refreshments and gifts were provided for each child, and the visit included time not only with Santa, but with Mrs. Claus and some elves.

The event was sponsored by the Ogeechee Tech Student Council, was coordinated by Student Affairs, and was supported and attended by several members of the College’s faculty, staff, and administration.  “We felt that this was an appropriate way to celebrate the holiday season,” stated Charlene Lamar, Vice President for Student Affairs at Ogeechee Tech.  “These children face so many challenges in their personal lives.  We just wanted to bring some fun to their day while giving them a gift and some recognition,” concluded Lamar.
