Ogeechee Tech Participates in Georgia Southern Wellness Fair

In an effort to promote health and wellness Ogeechee Technical College participated in a Wellness Fair recently on the Georgia Southern University campus. A number of organizations were on hand to provide health screenings, information, and support for GSU students and others in an effort to promote a healthy life-style. Ogeechee Tech Health Occupations instructors Marilyn Turner and Micelle McCranie demonstrated the amount of fat contained in a variety of typical snack foods. The corresponding amount of fat contained in each single serving of a snack food was measured out in lard as an illustration of the amount of fat that is normally consumed with certain food choices.
