Ogeechee Tech Supports Habitat Project

On Friday, October 12, a Habitat for Humanity Build-a-Thon began work on house number 34 in Statesboro.  Ogeechee Technical College supported the project by raising money through its Student Council to contribute to the project, as well as providing a team of faculty, staff, and students to take part in the actual building of the house.  After an opening ceremony on Friday morning, three different shifts of workers contributed to the completion of the house over the two day event.

Ogeechee Tech President, Dr. Dawn Cartee stated, “We are very happy to take part in such a worthwhile project.  Affordable housing is not within the grasp of many people, and Habitat helps make something as basic as someone having their own roof over head a possibility.  This is a great way for our team at Ogeechee Tech to pull together to help others.”
