Ogeechee Tech Hosts Residents of Safe Haven, located in Statesboro, were guests recently at a holiday party at Ogeechee Technical College. A group of 24 mothers and their children made up the group which was treated to Christmas gifts, a sing along, dinner, a time of making ornaments, and a visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus and their elves. The event provided a time of fellowship and fun for residents of Safe Haven, and offered the opportunity for participants to enjoy some holiday cheer in a safe environment.
Safe Haven’s primary purpose is to provide a secure location for women and children who need to separate themselves from an abusive environment at home. The privacy of all the participants at the event was assured. The event was coordinated by the Student Affairs division at Ogeechee Tech, and various employees and students contributed to make the event a success. Contact: Barry Turner |
