OTC Students Participate Ogeechee Technical College Marketing Management students, Will Gay (above left) and Yvonne Lane, are doing internships with Statesboro’s Main Street Farmers’ Market during Summer quarter. Aside from helping promote the local Farmers’ Market, the students assist at the markets which are held every Tuesday evening and Saturday morning in downtown Statesboro. Market manager, Debra Chester, said, “These students do a great job in helping promote the Market and in coordinating all the activities at the Markets themselves. The help they provide is immeasurable, and I think they are learning a lot as well!” According to OTC Marketing Management instructor, Jessica Sanders, projects such as this are important for students because it gives them real-world experience. “Classroom instruction is important, but when students can put what they learn in class to work in actual situations, the educational process is enhanced so much,” said Sanders.
