Julie Strickland Joins OTC Faculty
Julie Marie Strickland, who goes by Julie, recently joined Ogeechee Technical College as an English instructor. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, she grew up in an Army family, the eldest of three daughters, and moved with her family every few years. After graduating high school in Savannah, she attended Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, and moved back to Savannah following graduation. She is married to Henry, whom she met in youth group at church. After moving to Bulloch County in 1998 she worked with the 4-H program, taught at Bulloch Academy, and worked at Georgia Southern University as the Athletics Learning Specialist and then as an English professor. |

Julie and Henry live on their family farm outside Portal and their household includes six cats and five dogs—their “children”. She enjoys cooking, listening to music, going to concerts, traveling to visit family (including favorite and only niece, Emma Grace), and bird watching. She is Assistant Director of the Georgia Southern Writing Project, which is a local site of the National Writing Project, a professional development organization which promotes writing as a tool for learning in all areas of curriculum at all grade levels. When you have the opportunity, extend a big Ogeechee Tech welcome to Julie!
