Ogeechee Tech PACS Student
The training the Radiology PACS program provides at OTC combines the medical aspects of Radiologic Technology with key computer related learning components, essentially marrying medical and computer training.
Croft was recently notified of successfully completing the certification requirements in Imaging Informatics. The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII), affiliated with the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, confirmed that Croft is now a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP), a designation which is held by fewer than 500 people in the world.
Julie Hammons, ABII Program Manager, stated, “On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the American Board of Imaging Informatics, the Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine, and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, we extend our congratulations to Brent Croft for his successful participation in the March 2010 Imaging Informatics Professional Examination.” Matt Dunn, a Radiologic Technology instructor at Ogeechee Tech, commended Croft for his accomplishment. “It is admirable that Brent has come back to school to further his education, but to challenge this certification exam and pass on the first try is great,” stated Dunn. “With less than 500 people in the world with the CIIP designation, he is certainly a part of an exclusive group.”
Croft is already putting his new training to work at Evans Memorial. “My Imaging Informatics training is already helping me on the job. I was sort of nervous about the test, but I am really happy to have passed it,” said Croft. Radiology PACS is one of several Imaging Science programs at Ogeechee Tech, and part of an even larger number of Health Science programs.
