Resource Equipment Available for Student Use

Student Resource Lab—Room 172
The Student Resource Lab is available to all students and alumni for school and job search related needs. Alumni needing to use the lab that do not have a current Student ID should check in at the Receptionist Desk for contact with the Career Services Office or a Counselor. Feel free to utilize the lab when needed—no appointment is necessary. Lab hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. This is your lab and your suggestions on how we can improve it for your use are greatly appreciated.
The lab has 18 computers available for students and alumni to utilize for homework, special school projects, resumes, school club needs, etc. Each computer is equipped with jump drive jacks, headphone and microphone jacks, Microsoft Office, Internet, and printer capabilities.
Laser printers are available with a “six page” limit printing capability. Students and alumni needing a fax or copies of a resume, cover letter, references, or other job search related material may contact the Career Services Office or a Counselor for assistance.
DVD, VHS, and Cassette Players are available for use. A wide array of training DVDs VHSs and cassettes ranging from obtaining credit reports and goal setting to building resumes and developing interviewing skills are available for your viewing, listening pleasure, and personal development—contact the Career Services Office or a Counselor for assistance. Research books are available and maintained on the resource material book case—feel free to use these as needed and place back on the book case when finished. Special Needs Equipment
All special equipment needed to support a disability such as large print keyboards, larger print computer screens, special software, etc. should be requested through the Disability and Student Support Services Coordinator located in Room 171E.
Tutoring services are available to any student who may need assistance with their educational program of study. Tutors are available in most subject and program areas. Tutoring appointments are usually made for 30 minute sessions. Walk-ins are welcome if a tutor is available. To schedule a tutoring appointment sign the tutoring log, located within the Resource Center, noting the desired time the appointment is needed.
The resource has several tables available for group sessions and may be utilized for school project meeting, club meeting, group study sessions, etc.—feel free to put two or more table together when needed (remember to set the room back up as found when finished).
The Student Resource Center may also be used for group presentations, upon special request and scheduling, with a white board, pull down projector screen, over head projector, and computer for PowerPoint and other presentation devices available—contact the Career Services Office or a Counselor for scheduling.
A wide array of training and research material is available for student and alumni use. Additional research material may be available within the Career Services Office. Numerous research and training books are available and maintained on the resource material book case within the lab area—feel free to use this material as needed and place back on the book case when finished. The Lending Library has a book drop for any student that needs to return book to the Lending Library after hours of when Lending Library personnel are not available (remember this drop box is for Lending Library books not OTC Library books).
Other Specialized Office Equipment
Staplers, hole punches, pencil sharpeners…you name it, it’s available—if you don’t see what you need…ask for assistance.
